  • Microbiology is the scientific field that aims to understand microscopic organisms and their relevance to the biosphere, including eukaryotes such as algae, fungi, and protozoa; prokaryotes such as bacteria and archaea; or acellular entities such as viruses, viroids, and prions. In the current scenario, mechanistic teaching, coupled with the lack of pedagogical materials in schools and the absence of offerings of continuing education courses using active methodologies, renders microbiology content superficial with student passivity in basic education. Considering that Biology teaching in High School is guided by the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), which encourages the application of student protagonism in solving everyday problems, the aim of this project was to use active methodology of station rotation for teaching and learning microbiology with the theme "Microorganisms that surround us" in a class of 30 students of the 2nd grade of High School, at the State School Graciliano Ramos, located in Palmeira dos Índios, Alagoas. For this purpose, a didactic sequence was elaborated that promoted the discussion of scientific knowledge and teaching through investigation, in order to recognize the existence of these organisms, use creative tools such as videos and games, and develop a circuit so that each student becomes the protagonist of their learning. In this sense, station rotation was divided into five stations, namely: playful, to address the theme through a board game and the construction of comic books; experimental, using sample collection and cultivation for observation and reproduction of didactic models with modeling clay for visual representation of content; short film, with video and ordered and logical elaboration of mind maps; creative, with the production of prototypes and participation in a card game; and technology, utilizing digital platforms such as Kahoot and Padlet. The research evaluation was carried out through a qualitative approach through observations, questionnaires, and interviews and based on content analysis by Laurence Bardin (2010), previously approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Alagoas. The results were positive, highlighting the active participation of the student at all times and the teacher as a mediator for teaching microbiology in High School, emphasizing the expectations, reflections, and challenges faced

  • Science Teaching is currently seen as a primary tool for the cons-
truction of scientific knowledge. Thus, teaching Science is to pro-
voke the student, it is to bring up discussions and reflections on

concepts essential to the construction of knowledge. Research-
based teaching aims to promote more dynamic and effective tea-
ching by providing ways for the student to systematize prior know-
ledge of new concepts, enabling them to be protagonists in their te-
aching and learning process. Thus, the main objective of this resear-
ch was to analyze the production of cartoons about the morphology

and physiology of the eukaryotic cell, based on the elaboration and
application of an Investigative Teaching Sequence (SEI) as a facili

tating resource in the learning process about cytology contents in

1st Series of High School. With an exploratory methodological de-
sign of a quantitative and qualitative nature, we sought to promote

an interactive space, allowing students to dialogue, present concepts

and arguments about cell biology. To obtain the data, the interacti-
on and protagonism of the students were considered during the

carrying out of the activities and production of the cartoons, reports,
photographic records made by the students and the application of

the questionnaire. The results were satisfactory, the students de-
monstrated that they had prior knowledge on the topic, while deve-
loping SEI activities, they strengthened the concepts with confiden-
ce and autonomy in an interactive way, favoring critical and creati-
ve learning. It is concluded, therefore, that the methodological stra-
tegy used in this research contributes to improving the acquisition

of knowledge and facilitating the teaching and learning process of

students about cell biology, especially about organelles, their func-
tions and importance for cellular metabolism.

  • Throughout the history of Brazilian education, science was determined
by an academic and international ideology, according to which
methodology and scientific production should be restricted to the
academic environment. Furthermore, this ideology determined the way
of building science and this model suffered from political instability
and authoritarian measures. The biology teaching method in school
institutions was for a long time characterized by presenting large
amounts of terminologies and extensive descriptions of structures and
biological processes. Based on this observation, this project was
developed at the Simôa Gomes school, located in Garanhuns-PE, with
the general objective of carrying out studies based on scientific
investigation using a model organism, the Drosophila melanogaster
species, aiming at significant learning to understand how gene
mutations and inheritance of classical genetics produce phenotypic
characteristics. The hypothesis of this project is that the use of
scientific research using an animal specimen: Drosophila
melanogaster, will make it possible to build dynamic and meaningful
teaching and learning processes about gene mutations and classical
genetic inheritance, representing an improvement in teaching practices
in high school. The interest in scientific research using an animal
model arose due to the need to use effective teaching processes in
order to promote meaningful learning and the potential of such a model
as an object of study to be investigated, from which many biological
processes can be understood. Regarding the results, when observing
the students' answers in the activities during the development of
the didactic sequence, it was noted that more than 70% of the students
got the correct answers to the proposed activities, thus, it was possible
to see that there was understanding in relation to how the

characteristics are transmitted over generations, that is, how the genetic
mutations of chromosomes II and III of D. melanogaster segregate
independently during the formation of gametes in the Parental
Generation and produce phenotypic characteristics that combine in
different ways in individuals of the F1 Generation compared to the
phenotypic characteristics of the Parental Generation that gave rise to
them. Investigative teaching has the potential to promote deepening
scientific knowledge on various topics in biology and provide support
for reflecting, discussing and replanning teaching practice in
    institutions intended for this purpose.

  • Sex education is a guarantee supported by the normative frameworks of Brazilian education. It is essential that the school plays its formative role in guiding topics about sexuality, as prevention and awareness are still the best ways to support young students in the face of issues involving health, well-being, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and early pregnancy. This study aims to create Comics (Comic Books) on sexual and reproductive health among adolescents from a School in the State of Alagoas, using design thinking (DT) to elaborate their narratives and build comics. Our study will involve two high school classes, one from the first and one from the second year. We will use design thinking in both classes to collectively design narratives and characters from comic books that identify with the students. Questionnaires of prior knowledge and also at the end of the research will be applied to assess the effectiveness of the teaching-learning strategy. Throughout the application of the design stages, the entire sequence of pedagogical actions will be qualitatively evaluated. Thus, it is expected to obtain an educational product that is a series in comics, about teaching biology and sexual and reproductive health, which fills the gaps in the debate at school and that can be used in different school contexts.

  • Teaching by investigation allows students to come into contact with scientific practices that approach scientific practice. In this context, through argumentative situations, interactions between students and teachers are favored, since in the process there is the possibility of the emission of hypotheses by the students, facing a problem-situation, thus building explanations and understandings about phenomena discussed during the investigations. . The main objective of this work is to promote investigative actions in high school students from the public network, through research and cataloging of medicinal plant species used by the regional community, so that they know their use by the local community and compare it with scientific research . Among the specific objectives of the work are: to launch a problem-situation to students involving the use of medicinal plants; encourage students to research the use of medicinal plants by the regional community and compare with the results of scientific research; present students with research carried out in ethnobotany so that they can develop their research in the light of appropriate scientific methodologies; propose that students develop material to be used in a digital application that popularizes information about medicinal plants used by the regional community; stimulate protagonism, investigative work and collaboration among students. Given the above, within the research teaching strategies, a questionnaire will be applied to ascertain the perception of knowledge of the local community about medicinal plants, material will be collected and a digital application will be made, thus contributing to the deepening of the study of Botany. digital application by students from the public school system

  • Currently, sexuality in adolescence has been the subject of several studies, due to the
vulnerability linked to this group. An example is the issue of Sexually Illnesses
Communicable – IST`S, which are one of the most frequent pathologies in Brazil and in the world,
young people being the most affected. Thus, based on scientific knowledge, the school has
a preponderant role in the debate on these issues for the training and awareness of these
young. In this, teaching practice needs to diversify methodological strategies, such as
Didactic Sequence – SD. This consists of a set of activities, strategies and
interventions planned by the teacher so that the understanding of the proposed content is
achieved by the students. And as each individual learns in a specific way, the acquisition of
knowledge of each student in SD will be related to David's learning styles.

  • Autonomy in learning stimulates one of the most fascinating and challenging processes of transformations experienced by the students in the construction of knowledge. Therefore, it causes the teachers to rethink practices and change routines in the promotion of an investigative teaching, especially when the perception about Botany does not culminate in a formative learning. In light of the above, this research seeks to use a ludic proposal, within an investigative teaching strategy, so that the students, by their own elaboration, can substantiate the understanding of the form and function of the vascularization in plant organisms. The research will be conducted with students from the third year of high school from Escola Estadual Professor José Quintella Cavalcanti in the municipality of Arapiraca, State of Alagoas. The students will: 1) be encouraged to problematize the conditions for the water transport in plants, precipitation and temperature on Earth; 2) elaborate hypotheses to solve the problems such as the probable existing differences between the height and the benefits caused by the roots in the humidity of the soil; 3) in teams, register questions associated to the knowledge built, including researches that interconnect the forces involved in the transport of sap and its relation with the Biosphere; 4) build modeling paste archetypes and card bingo in order to test their hypotheses. Knowledge questionnaires will be applied at the beginning and at the end of the research in order to assess the efficacy of the learning strategy. Thus, the strategy is intended to contribute to the study of Botany, representing a favorable moment to gain knowledge, fun and motivation in the construction of a meaningful learning.

From a constructivist perspective, the use of active methodology can stimulate the formation of an autonomous, critical, creative and curious young person about the phenomena that occur around them beyond the teacher perspective in the classroom. Our hypothesis is that the use of the active methodology will reflect a significant increase in the performance of students in Biology classes. Therefore, the present study intends on verifying the efficiency of active methodologies by using a mobile phone application in the high school Biology teaching. The research will be developed with high school students at the State School Teacher João Costa, Aracaju / SE. The project execution will take place counting on the active participation of the students and it will include: bibliographic review; research on free accessible digital tools, softwares and applications that can be used as a platform for building and hosting an application for smartphones with content related to the Insecta Class; application development, participating students evaluation; obtained data collection and analysis. In order to assess students' performance, the field journal will be used, where students responses related to the interest shown in learning the topic as well as their engagement in the use of these teaching-learning methods will be observed; a post-test will also be used, which analysis and data treatment will happen by means of the t Student test.

The present work has for aim to show the importance of learning the various contents of biology, assisted by the use, reading and interpretation of images in the training of 1st grade students years of high school at Theotônio Vilela Brandão State School in Maceió-AL involving the application of practical activities and providing opportunities for students to use significant strategies in learning the contents, concepts and theories of Biology, in special about cellular respiration. An interactionist approach will be used as a strategy teaching-learning, thus contributing to a better understanding of the contents of the high school. Images will be used as auxiliary means for understanding the basic concepts of biology, especially of breathing and its respective stages through lectures, field experiments and basic research. This way the work will contribute to a transformation in the way students learn the topics, giving them the opportunity to be active subjects of their learning, able to think and interfere in social practices around it.

Based on the proximity of the Professor Sebastião Felisberto de Carvalho do Manguezal State School, and the existence of a trail in this biome, there was a need to conduct a survey with the students of that school, aiming to verify if the formatting of this trail, through a investigative approach, can be used as a teaching strategy. The interpretive trail to be formatted will allow the practice of environmental education practices for students at the Sebastião Felisberto de Carvalho School, as well as for the municipal schools and their surroundings. Investigative practices will be used to format the trail, prioritizing teamwork using meaningful and collaborative learning as pedagogical strategies. First, students will be divided into small groups where each group will be responsible for conducting research on specific issues relating to the mangrove area in question, such as: fauna, flora, abiotic, ecological factors and the importance of the mangrove. Among the strategies used, a round of conversation will be held with the shellfish gatherers who frequent the trail. On average, five meetings will be held with the groups, each meeting will make it possible to raise new questions and possible solutions. Subsequently, each group will define the stop points for explanations, then the groups will meet again to format the trail and produce the online booklet that will have the purpose of guiding educators to guide their students on the trail.

  • Biodiversity contributes to environmental balance and comprises the variety and variability of organisms present in nature, including diversity from the level of genes to biological ecosystems, configuring itself as the diversity of life. The study of this theme, with the use of an active learning methodology that focuses on problematizing issues, encourages the student to develop a leading role in the construction and/or consolidation of scientific knowledge. In this sense, at the Regina Pacis High School Reference School, located in the municipality of Palmeirina (PE), around 40 students from the 2nd year “A” will participate in this research project with the main objective of developing and applying a Investigative Teaching Sequence (SEI) involving theoretical/expository classes, field classes and laboratory classes, in order to contribute to the systematization and learning of biological concepts related to biodiversity. The research will be qualitative and data collection and analysis will be through observations of conceptual, attitudinal and procedural knowledge of students in carrying out the activities. Students, in the formal teaching space, will have expository classes dialogued with guiding problematizing questions for the other stages of the research. Field classes will be held, in which students will carry out a survey of arboreal botanical individuals present in two 10x10m plots. For this, they will be divided into two groups and each group will work in a portion for later comparison and discussion of the data. The botanical material collected will be taken to the school laboratory and students will group the branches into morphospecies, through the analysis of morphology/external appearance. After this step, each group of students will count the number of morphospecies found in each plot and will present the results to the other students in the room. With the mediation of the teacher, discussions will then be held about the concepts of species, richness, abundance and diversity. Students will be encouraged to present the results obtained using different tools, such as: writing reports; oral presentation to the other students of the school and elaboration of infographics. This project will have as a product an Investigative Teaching Sequence (SEI) that will describe the methodology used for students to assimilate new knowledge and/or consolidate pre-existing knowledge about biological concepts related to biodiversity with the absorption of scientific concepts for an effective learning of the topic under study.

  • Genetics, despite its presence in the daily life of society, is greatly misunderstood by most students and the general population, failing to relate certain concepts studied at school about this discipline. Many students demonstrate difficulties in understanding the meaning of gene, DNA and RNA as well as correlating disorders in the genetic material with the appearance of cancerous tumors. This project sought to develop a board game with the participation of students with a didactic-pedagogical nature, in a playful way and using investigative teaching strategies and active methodology with the use of an inverted classroom. We sought to help students understand concepts intrinsic to molecular genetics so that they could understand and correlate genetic structure with oncogenesis. The research was carried out by students of the second year of high school at Escola Sebastião Tiago de Oliveira, in the municipality of Jupi – PE. Students were divided into groups and instructed to research a type of cancer and discover the genetic factors involved in the chosen disease. Once the research was done, each group presented a seminar in the classroom showing their findings to the other colleagues. After the seminars, doubts and curiosities were clarified, and the groups were presented with the challenge of putting the information considered relevant in a board game, having as reference the game WAR from the manufacturer Grow. Completed game, we invited a group of students who did not participate in its development to play and give their opinion about the developed product. In this way, it was intended to contribute to a better understanding of concepts related to molecular genetics by correlating it to issues of interest to society, such as cancer.

  • There are several discussions in the literature about the learning difficulties of botany subjects by the students. The teaching of Plant Physiology, a subarea of Botany, depends on basic subjects such as biochemistry and structural botany for the optimization of learning. The methodological approach is one of the key points in the teaching process. Therefore, this research will present the didactic game as a pedagogical strategy that the teacher can incorporate into his/her practice in order to facilitate the teaching-learning process of the students. The objective of this work was to assess whether didactic games, constructed from the student’s protagonism and investigation, can be used as a pedagogical strategy that awakens the students' interest in the subject of Plant Physiology. The research took place in José Correia da Silva Titara State School, in the municipality of Maceió, Alagoas, in the four classes of the second-year of high school. In order to achieve this goal, each class was responsible for the production of a didactic game: class A was responsible for setting up a pedagogical-didactic game along the lines of UNO; class B was responsible for the production of a pedagogical-didactic game along the lines of the Ecological Trail; class C built a pedagogical-didactic game along the lines of Bingo and class D was responsible for the production of a pedagogical-didactic game along the lines of Ludo. After analyzing the data from the questionnaires applied to the students in the classroom, it was highly evident that the didactic game engaged and motivated the students during the pedagogical activity and aided in the construction of scientific knowledge for the teaching of plant hormones. Besides that, it contributed to encourage diverse pedagogical practices by the Biology teacher with regard to teaching methodologies. In this context, it was found that the playful practice of didactic games contributed to the expansion of the students' interest in the theme under study, a fact that allowed a better understanding of the subject. This process as a whole enhances the intellectual autonomy of the students as well as it impacts the autonomy of the teacher, as the holder of pedagogical knowledge. It causes teachers to rethink their practice by using an investigative approach using the didactic game as a pedagogical tool.

A card game (JgBrain) with investigative elements on the functioning of the nervous system was created based on questions the students asked in classes and on the use of the questionnaire on neuromyths. The effectiveness of the card game in improving learning was proven by the significantly increased number of correct answers (10.4 ± 4.13 before, 20.4 ± 4.78 after, p < 0.0001, Student’s t-test) in the questionnaire on neuromyths, which contains 32 statements about the functioning of the nervous system. The use of the game as a pedagogical tool to teach the functioning of the nervous system was effective, contributing to contextualized teaching and allowing the proactive and investigative participation of the student.

do teste estatístico t.
A aula convencional, ministrada antes

argumentação e contextualização do tema proposto.

  • Invertebrates comprise a large variety of animal taxa, reported in variable habitats and with different functions in the environment where they live, being the focus of study in a relevant field of Biology, Zoology. Study on invertebrates in school are not always synonymous with learning, because their contents are transmitted only in traditional, expository and summarized ways, without dynamism and encouragement for the study, making students to lose motivation during classes. In this context, it hard to promote efficient learning because, when relating the invertebrates in a class, it would be pleasant to use teaching strategies that draw the student's attention, bringing them closer to the transmitted subject. This study aims to stimulate the learning of students in the 2nd grade of high school, about the content of invertebrates. This research was done in a public school in the state of Alagoas, through the use of a didactic sequence, applied at a distance, on three invertebrates phyla: Cnidaria, the Molluscs and Annelids, obtaining the learning data through questionnaires and follow-up in all stages of the sequence. Two different questionnaires were applied in two classes through Google Forms, with applications before and after the on-line classes to verify the knowledge that students already have on the subject, as well as to verify if the didactic sequence stimulates the learning about the invertebrates studied. The didactic sequence comprises 4 stages: (1) pre-activities questionnaire, (2) video classes and online classes, (3) challenges on social networks about the content and (4) post-activities questionnaire. The two questionnaires have different questions. The data analyses for the two questionnaires were based on categories, comparing previous knowledge and promoting corrections regarding wrong concepts, when necessary. The verification of learning was based on comparison between categories of the questionnaires before and after the activities, as well as the monitoring of classes in all stages of the didactic sequence. With the results obtained from the research, it can be concluded that learning was stimulated through the application of the didactic sequence, which used different activities, associated with the use of digital tools, instigating the students' learning.

  • Ethnobiology has been recognized over the years as an important piece for the development of scientific knowledge. Involving it in the teaching-learning process is a necessary task, but it needs to happen in a coherent way. Biology teaching has undergone innovations over time. Currently we see the emergence of new methodologies to facilitate learning, the most significant of which are aimed at its autonomy. Entomology, the science that studies insects, in this research, could be worked in a contextualized way with other contents, also essential for the Teaching of Ecology. The objective of the present work was to develop a digital didactic booklet, with an open license, containing instructions for the elaboration of didactic sequences built from the use of insects, through an ethnobiological vision, as a pedagogical tool for the construction of meaningful knowledge, of in order to insert the protagonism of learning by the method of investigative approach using ethnobiological surveys on insects in the region, giving impetus to the initiation and scientific research, carried out by the students. Through these data, students built hypotheses, which is an important process for the development of investigative teaching. The booklet, in addition to being objective, is the product of research. And this takes into account: the deconstruction of misconceptions, the notion that insects are always “plagues”; awareness for the preservation of these living beings; food chains and other content. This work was carried out in the only state school in Taquarana-Al, by students of the 2nd year of high school and had as evaluation a performance comparison between four classes, where two classes continued with traditional teaching, using only expository classes, while in the other classes classes were applied to the SD produced and developed in this research. Therefore, an alternative teaching strategy was presented, emphasizing the common background of the students' reality, making learning a more real process, through meaningful learning. The collected data pointed out a great difference in the learning of the classes in question. It was concluded that the use of insects as a teaching tool, through the ethnobiological view of the students, for the teaching of Ecology, had a commendable success.

região do vale do riacho São José.

O presente estudo pretende analisar a viabilidade
