THE IMPACT OF HOME CONFINEMENT ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS AT A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY IN NORTHEASTERN BRAZIL DURING THE CORONAVÍRUS PANDEMIC
Quality of Life. Students. Pandemic.
The Academic Work of Course Completion (TACC) aimed to investigate the influence
of the pandemic on the quality of life of students in the Psychology course at Campus
AC Simões, Federal University of Alagoas. The methodology used was quantitative,
through the application of structured questionnaires to map the situational and
sociodemographic profile and the perception of quality of life and its meanings in the
face of the new coronavirus pandemic. 59 students participated in the research, 49
female and 10 male, enrolled between the 2nd and 10th periods. The research results
are presented in an original article entitled: THE IMPACT OF HOME CONFINEMENT
ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF STUDENTS IN
THE PSYCHOLOGY COURSE OF A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY IN NORTHEASTERN
BRAZIL DURING THE NEW CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC. Students reported their
current scenario. A profile was drawn and parameters discussed that hinder the
development of academic demands and quality of life. And to mitigate part of the gaps,
a digital booklet was developed advising students on administrative processes during
training so that they can facilitate understanding, access and referrals to
administrative procedures during graduation through training, in a simple, practical
and safe way, prioritizing the virtuality of the processes, since the presence of
administrative assistance is suspended. All care is considered directly correlated to
COVID-19, and reflections on education, ways of life, behaviors and human
relationships in general, necessary to mitigate the effects of the pandemic and give
new meaning to life in all its spaces, as well as precariousness of work and the
difficulties of several orders in the daily life of the academy and in the conditions of
life in general.
