SUMMARY:
The closet is an epistemological device that not even the movements/affects of perceiving oneself outside it are capable of transposing it. This regulatory structure at the individual and collective level of gender and sexuality dissent defines modes of public-private sociability, anchored in the homo/straight binarism and in compulsory heteronormativity; in addition to producing historical regimes of (in)visibilities that acquire new configurations from one context to another and forge micro and macro-political systems whose guidelines can change between people who live in it and resist oppression, violence and discriminatory acts through strong secrecy characterized by secrets, pacts and/or other strategies. In Sertão do Pajeú, a rural context strongly marked by sexist, Christian and homophobic social practices, young gay men from Serra Talhada are not exempt from the effects of this regulatory and epistemic system; which causes serious damage to their experiences of corporeality, sociability practices and lives. In view of this issue, this research project aims to understand the closet experience among young gay men from Serra-Talhada from the interior of Sertão do Pajeú, in order to investigate the configurations of the closet in this territory, analyze how the exercise of participation politics helps in the process of coming out of the closet and describes the online/offline sociability strategies used by such people to live corporeal experiences. For this, we place ourselves in the critical perspective of social psychology, feminist epistemology and queer theory, as a theoretical-epistemological-methodological resource for research. And, from the practice of the bell hooks dialogue, with a central focus on what we propose to answer as a scientific research issue – that is, what is the closet experience among young gays from Serra-Talhadenses in the interior context of Sertão do Pajeú? – we will enter the field to dialogue virtually through the Google Meet platform, with 05 young gay men from Serra Talhada and, therefore, transcribe the recorded conversations and interpret them through intersectional analysis based on thematic axes that will reflect the objectives of this research.
