SUMMARY:

INTRODUCTION: Frailty is a condition of vulnerability that affects multiple domains, often exacerbated by aging and factors such as inflammation and malnutrition. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) accelerates metabolic aging and increases the prevalence of frailty, especially in advanced stages. Frailty in these patients is associated with a reduction in glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and the presence of urinary proteinuria. Early identification of frailty is crucial to improve quality of life and implement effective preventive interventions. OBJECTIVES: The present study aimed to evaluate frailty in the elderly and its association with glomerular filtration, also correlating frailty with body composition, strength and functional performance. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This was a cross-sectional study with elderly people with CKD, with the collection of socioeconomic, demographic, clinical, anthropometric, laboratory and HFR data.
