SUMMARY:

The increase in the worldwide prevalence of obesity has brought back the concept of
"food dependence" as a way of understanding psychic factors and
eating behavior around weight gain. The debate on whether dependency
Is eating a unique construct or an overlap of binge eating disorder
food continues in current studies, with evidence pointing in several directions, the
which makes it difficult to manage these conditions and may influence the patient's response to the
treatment and its results after bariatric surgery. The present study aims to
to evaluate psychopathological characteristics of the association between food dependence and
Binge eating disorder in the obese population who are candidates for bariatric surgery.
Information will be collected through 5 instruments: questionnaire
sociodemographic, modified Yale Food Addiction Scale 2.0,
binge eating, emotional dysregulation scale and impulsivity scale, which
will be applied to obese patients who are candidates for bariatric surgery in a
reference.
