Nutritional treatment in sarcopenic cirrhotic: a systematic review
Sarcopenia, cirrhosis, nutritional therapy
Patients with liver disease are at high risk for the development of sarcopenia, which will consequently directly interfere with quality of life, functionality, increased risks of complications, hospitalization, infections and worsening of the general clinical condition. Thus, it is necessary to know about the nutritional treatment of these patients, in order to reduce the consequences resulting from this loss of muscle and functionality. Therefore, the objective of this project is to carry out a survey of what is available in the literature on the nutritional treatment of sarcopenic cirrhotic patients. This is a systematic review with meta-analysis carried out from October 2023 to April 2024, in the PUBMED, VHL, Cochrane and SCOPUS databases. Statistical analysis was performed using the JAMOVI program with a MAJOR module for meta-analyses.
