SUMMARY:

Introduction: Several studies suggest that female athletes have a higher prevalence of pelvic floor disorders (PFD), particularly urinary incontinence. However, the association between the level of physical activity and the presence of these disorders still requires further investigation. Objective: To analyze the prevalence of PFD and the factors associated with physical exercise in healthy female athletes and non-athletes. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study that will use the following questionnaires to assess PFD symptoms: Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory (PFDI-20), Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire - Short Form (ICIQ-SF), and Brief Pain Inventory (BPI). Pelvic floor muscle function will be evaluated using the PEFECT scale and 2D translabial ultrasound. The long version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) will be applied to assess the context of physical activity engagement, in addition to the use of an accelerometer for all participants during daily life activities. For athletes, training frequency, volume, and intensity will be assessed using an accelerometer during training sessions. Variables will be described using means and standard deviations, and statistical analysis will be conducted using Excel and JASP software, employing tests such as the chi-square test and ROC curve analysis, with a 95% significance level. Expected Results: To determine the prevalence of all types of pelvic floor disorders in female athletes compared to healthy non-athletes, and to examine whether the level of physical activity influences the occurrence of these disorders.
