This investigation is part of a broader research matrix called School organizational culture and implications for teaching work (Ufal/UP). It aims to understand the influences of the infectious “Germ” on the school organizational cultures of Ejai in Maceió, considering the period from 2020 to 2024. This study takes as its starting point Resolution CNE/CEB nº 1/2021 of the National Education Council, sanctioned on May 28, 2021, which establishes the Operational Guidelines for Youth and Adult Education, integrating the National Literacy Policy (PNA) with the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and Distance Education for Youth and Adults (EaD). The field of investigation covers four public schools under the administration of the Municipal Department of Education of Maceió (Semed). It adopts a qualitative approach, through multiple case studies and policy cycle analysis. The research aims to uncover the nuances of this influence. We used the content analysis technique to detect data arising from conversation sessions with teachers, semi-structured interviews with the management of participating schools, as well as with technicians from the General Coordination of Education for Youth, Adults and Elderly (CGEJAI/Semed) and members of the Municipal Education Council (Comed). The preliminary results point to the significant impacts of "Germ" on educational policies for Youth and Adult Education (EJA), especially in relation to the guidelines of Resolution CNE/CEB nº 1/2021. This has generated tensions and contradictions in efforts to reconfigure educational policies for this modality in the context of the Ejai schools in Maceió involved in the study.
