EDUCATION AND MENTAL HEALTH: EPISTEMOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF DISSERTATIONS AND THESIS PRODUCED IN GRADUATE PROGRAMS OF THE EDUCATION AREA IN BRAZIL
mental health; education
This research is part of the field of epistemological investigations, which aims to measure, characterize and evaluate scientific production, with the general objective of problematizing research carried out at the stricto sensu level - master's dissertations and doctoral theses - in graduate programs in Education in Brazil about issues related to Mental Health in educational contexts. Guided by the mixed method, based on the systematic review of literature in the qualitative dimension and scientometrics in the quantitative dimension, searches were carried out in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), maintained by the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT ) and in the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). The searches were carried out according to the following terms: "mental health", "mental suffering", "mental illness", "mental suffering", psychosis, Burnout, "mental illness", anxiety, stress, depression, "bipolar disorder" and “mental disorder”. With the results of individual searches for terms and words with the Education evaluation area filter, the results found in both databases (duplicates) were initially removed. Then, the title, summary and keywords of each work found were read, in order to apply the established inclusion and exclusion criteria and compose the corpus of analysis of the investigation. From then on, we started with the collection and registration of data referring to the adaptation of the paradigmatic epistemological matrix with registration in electronic spreadsheets, in order to recover the data and information of the logical and epistemological historical conditions of the surveyed national production. To collect and record the complementary information, searches were made in the Lattes curriculum for information regarding researchers, advisors and co-supervisors, and in the e-MEC System for complementary information regarding Higher Education Institutions. The analysis of the data of the qualitative dimension will be made based on the Content Analysis with the aid of the software ATLAS.ti and the quantitative data in the descriptive statistical analysis, which, in possession of both analyzes, will be made triangulations, in order to interpret the results and understand the processes of knowledge production with regard to the logical, historical and epistemological aspects of the dissertations and theses analyzed here, in the light of the discussions on Education and Mental Health.
