The contributions of PNLD 2021 textbooks in the fight against Fake news and its relationship with Scientific Literacy and Media Education

This research aims to verify the contribution of education in combating fake news. This concern has become even greater and more fundamental with the pandemic and all the challenges it has launched to the world, revealing society's various weaknesses and its lack of connection with science. In addition to all the problems that the pandemic brought related to health and human life, it showed a vulnerability of the population regarding the criteria adopted to validate information, often relying on false information, invented with the intention of deceiving and favoring opinions personal, or interpreting information in a biased way and without any basis other than the selective look to see only what will benefit your point of view. and, at the same time, have a healthier informational environment? In an attempt to answer this question, we sought to better understand what fake news is and what are the patterns of this false information, the consequences for society and the reasons that lead individuals to share and believe in this type of content. Based on this information, it was possible to learn more about this topic, which is still little explored in the scientific literature. Despite this, three ways to combat fake news were discussed with the intention of discovering which of them could stop this false information without harming the right to freedom of expression. Among them, education was the path that has this profile of building a criticality necessary for fake news to lose space within society. This study is a bibliographical research with a qualitative approach. works found on the Scielo platform to verify which ways to combat fake news and those related to Education. This need to rely on science to make decisions, take a stand and interpret information are skills that are developed through an education that goes beyond the walls of the school and reflects on society and how it communicates with science
