SUMMARY:

The concept of health education is based on improving the quality of life and preventing diseases. In this work, we seek to analyze the knowledge of hygiene and health applied in basic education from the Textbooks of Natural Sciences of the Early Years of Elementary School of PNLD 2019. From the importance of these instruments, important for the teaching and learning process at school, we analyze how the skills of BNCC are approached, and their relationship with the hygiene habits of children and families, based on the IAC (Scientific Literacy Indicators), how health promotion is presented in these textbooks. So that we could understand the relationship between health promotion and education, we explored the Proceedings of the National Meeting of Education in Science (ENPEC) from 2010 to 2020, on the production on the subject, with a view to understanding the discussions about the concepts of hygiene that are expressed in these investigations. Consecutively, we analyzed the treatment of the theme through its presence in curricular documents such as Parameters Curriculares Nacionais and the current Common National Curriculum Base-BNCC, exploring the curricular framework for the state of Alagoas. Thus, our research is qualitative, document analysis, where we will use Bardin's Content Analysis to observe the categories that are linked to the IAC in the observation of activities that can promote such IAC in students.
