TITLE:
The Brazilian Northeast was marked, in the years 2015 and 2016, by the birth of a large number of children with the characteristic of microcephaly. This phenomenon was of interest to physicians and researchers from Brazil and the world who, having reached the conclusion that the series responsible for the growing number of cases of microcephaly in newborns was the Aedes Aegypt mosquito as the main vector. In addition, it was found that microcephaly was a unique feature that these children did not have, there were also other comorbidities, such as: intellectual disability, low vision, physical disability, hearing impairment, among others. This set of characteristics associated with the individual who was infected by the Zika Virus - while still in uterine life - was called Congenital Zika Virus Syndrome (CZVS). Women infected by the mosquito during pregnancy, and who, therefore, had children diagnosed with CZVS., are mostly still very young, black and poor; and today, almost a decade after the Zika Virus pandemic, most of these women have their children enrolled regular schools. Thus, in face of this phenomenon, the present work starts from the following problem: how does the process of constitution of the subjective dimension of the social function of the school take place with regard to the school inclusion of children with CZVS? That said, this thesis has the general objective of explaining and analyzing the subjective dimension of the social function of the school, based on the meanings of family members associated with an NGO dedicated to supporting families of children with CZVS, regarding the process of educational inclusion. Specifically, the research has the following objectives: to describe and explain the socio-historical determinations that constitute the concrete reality of families of children with CZVS associated with an NGO; describe and explain the possible contributions of the NGO to children with CZVS regarding their school inclusion; apprehend and analyze the meanings constructed by family members of children with CZVS about the role of the NGO in which they are associated – in the face of their children's educational-school process; and to apprehend and analyze the meanings of family members about the inclusive educational process of their children. In this sense, we used the Nuclei of Meaning as a procedure for analyzing the data produced during the research, and we took Historical and Dialectical Materialism as a theoretical-methodological basis (MARX, 1996, 2007, 2010, 2022; ENGELS, 1883, 1988). , 1999, 2021; KOSIK, 1969; LUKÁCS, 1979, 1986, 2013, 2014; MÉSZÁROS, 2015, 2016; TONET, 2018; MACENO, 2017, 2019), and the Socio-Historical Psychology Perspective (VIGOTSKI, 2009, 2009, 2007, 2019). , 2011, 2019; LURIA, 1986; LEONTIEV, 1978; BOCK, 1978, 1999, 2015, 2016; AGUIAR and OZELA, 2013). As a methodological strategy, the data are being produced in two moments: in the first moment, a semi-structured interview was carried out, individually, with four women (three mothers and a grandmother of children affected by CZVS) who are members of an association dedicated to the families of children with CZVS and other commitments, who have their children enrolled in public schools in the city of Maceió-Al; the second moment will consist of a reflection session that, based on the logic of praxis, will be carried out with the participants of the research, its scope will be, from discussions around the social function of the school for its children, to raise collective intelligibility zones to in order to apprehend the movement of this reality, understanding and overcoming it. As a result of the analysis of the data, produced through the interviews, it was evident, until the present moment of the research, that the meanings of the family members about the subjective dimension of the social function of the school, point to the need for care - as an ethical posture from the school to the child with CZVS – as one of the aspects considered relevant, overlapping the social function that, in a traditional and historical way, is attributed to the school, which is to systematically transmit the academic content. We emphasize that, since it is a research in its development phase, the production and analysis of the data may point to other interpretations, in addition to these.
