SUMMARY:

Over time, Brazilian medical education has been transforming according to the demands that have arisen socially. Currently, what is expected of a doctor, besides his technical capacity, is that he be an ethical, reflective, and humanistic professional. In this way, education is compelled to rethink its models, after all, the traditional methods of teaching and learning cannot meet the needs of contemporary education. The present study has the following general objective: To investigate how the active methodologies used in the UFAL Medical School - Arapiraca Campus are configured in light of creative and inclusive practices based on complexity (MORIN, 2007) and transdisciplinarity (NICOLESCU, 2008). And, as specific objectives, map and analyze how active methodologies have been used in undergraduate medical courses in Brazil; identify the active methodologies used by teachers in the medical course of UFAL - Arapiraca Campus; investigate the perception of students and teachers of the medical course on the active methodologies used, considering the acceptance and inclusion of diversity in the ways of being and learning of students; To evaluate the creativity development index of the UFAL Medicine course - Arapiraca Campus and its allusions in the formation of the student; and to analyze the documents related to the pedagogical activities of the course regarding active methodologies and possibilities of creative and inclusive practices. This is a qualitative research with a case study approach; the research subjects are the students and teachers of the Medical School of the Federal University of Alagoas/Arapiraca Campus. The instruments for data collection are semi-structured individual interviews, application of the VADECRIE questionnaire and documentary research regarding the investigation in the course documents. The data analysis will be based on content analysis (BARDIN, 1977) of the interviews conducted considering the triangulation of data from the other collection instruments. So far, the pilot study of the research has been done with the presentation of the results in full, the interviews transcribed, and graphs prepared from the answers in the VADECRIE questionnaire.
