HOSPITAL PEDAGOGY BEYOND THEORY: THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE LEGISLATION AND THE EFFECTIVENESS OF HOSPITAL CLASSES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MACEIÓ-AL.

This research aims to present an educational historical narrative around hospital pedagogy, showing its course over time, listing the factors that contributed to its creation, as well as the expansion of its space in the world and in Brazil. Thus, we emphasize the need to implement hospital classes in the city of Maceio, as a means of guaranteeing the right to education for all children who are in a condition of illness and, consequently, unable to attend the regular school network, problematizing the reasons why the legislation covering the matter has not been effective in the municipality of Maceió-Al. As a theoretical and methodological option, it is a qualitative study, with emphasis on the bibliographical and documental review, also carrying out a case study, with a specific focus on the reality of the University Hospital Professor Alberto Antunes.
