DISCUSSIONS ABOUT GENDER IN THE CURRICULUM OF SCHOOLS IN AGRESTE ALAGOANO

This work seeks to describe how gender issues are being contemplated and reflected in high school curricula, in two schools in the rural area of Alagoas, more precisely in the municipality of Arapiraca. Understanding that discussions about gender in Brazilian education have been carried out since the last century, suffering resistance from society, but at the same time being the agenda of projects and possibilities within schools. The general objective is to: research how gender discussions are contemplated in the curricula of the investigated schools. The specific objectives of the work are: a) to investigate the curricula of schools with a focus on reflections on gender; b) understand the conceptions of the investigated teachers about gender discussions in the classrooms, c) investigate the students' conceptions about the gender theme and the need for these discussions in the classroom; d) Analyze official curriculum documents and proposals, observing the presence or invisibility of gender discussions. As problematizations, we bring: How public schools in the Alagoas countryside are contemplating gender discussions in high school curricula. Methodologically, we used the course of qualitative research with a multiple case study approach (STAKE, 2007), (YIN, 2001), as data collection instruments, initially we conducted interviews with teachers and later young students, who are part of the schools locus of investigation, we observed the practice and finally resorted to analyzes of guiding documents of school curricula, we also carried out a bibliographical research of texts, articles and books on the proposed theme. Considering that this research is still in the execution phase, we do not bring final results in this qualification.
