SUMMARY:

This research addresses the importance of teacher training in higher education to deal with the challenges presented during the pandemic. The study is based on a specific case at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), focusing on the analysis of the Teacher Training Program (Proford) and the Course on Digital Technologies and Active Methodologies (TDMA). of teacher training in higher education in times of a pandemic in Emergency Online Teaching (EOE). The challenges faced by the Federal Institutions of Higher Education (IFES) in Brazil are discussed, as well as the teacher training policy adopted in these institutions. In addition, the skills and abilities necessary for teachers in this context are outlined, along with strategies for continuing education in online teaching. The second section of the work is dedicated to the continuing education of teachers at UFAL, with an approach in Proford and in the TDMA Course. The TDMA Course projects carried out between 2018 and 2021 are detailed, including justifications, objectives, methodology, syllabus and estimates. Analyzes of the final reports of the courses carried out in different years are also developed. In the third section, we address the construction of conditions for pedagogical practice at UFAL during the pandemic, focusing on the Exceptional Teaching Period (PLE). The positive and negative aspects of PLE are discussed, such as opportunities for adaptability and experimentation with new teaching methodologies, but also challenges, such as overwork for teachers and inequalities in access to the internet and educational technologies. by Proford/Ufal, in the context of the TDMA Course, before and during the pandemic were not enough to meet the needs triggered by the new forms of EOE, as Proford/Ufal is still in the process of building a digital culture and is undergoing a process of didactic transposition, which managers, coordinators, teachers and students are adapting to the new forms of EOE. The research approach is qualitative with a focus on Bardin's content analysis, and from the triangulation of documentary data, bibliography and the narratives of professors who graduated from the TDMA course and managers of the Deans of Ufal, we sought to investigate the practice of professors who graduated from the TDMA course carried out by Proford/Ufal and the impacts that this training had on teaching work at the EOE, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
