Gender in Early Childhood Education: a survey of teachers in the city of Maceió, AL

The present entitled “Gender in Early Childhood Education: a survey with teachers in the city of Maceió, AL”, aims to investigate the gender conceptions of teachers who work in the daily life of public institutions of Early Childhood Education in the municipal network of Maceió, AL, based on the principle that these conceptions guide educational practices and, therefore, interfere and affect the daily lives of boys and girls since they were babies. This is a qualitative research whose data collection is expected to be carried out through the application of questionnaires and interviews with teachers from an administrative region of the city of Maceió, given the scope of the network. In order to choose the region, the “Municipal Centers for Early Childhood Education” were mapped, according to the administrative regions defined by the Municipality of Maceió and with a service radius of 10 km away from the Federal University of Alagoas being established, the institutions in the region were selected VII – Santos Dumont, Clima Bom, Cidade Universitária, Santa Lúcia and Tabuleiro do Martins neighborhoods – as a research field, emphasizing the application of questionnaires and interviews with professors who show interest and free consent to participate. The systematic review considered the official documents dealing with gender and early childhood education and articles and dissertations published between January 2019 and June 2023, which were related to the area of education. As a reference, there are studies by Alvarenga and Vianna (2021), Prado and Anselmo (2019), Corsaro (2009), Pereira (2013), Coll Delgado (2013), Nascimento (2011) and Silva, Silva and Finco ( 2020), Buss-Simão (2012) Finco, Gobbi and Faria (2015), among others.
