SUMMARY:

This thesis seeks to understand, through the memories and narratives of sertanejo subjects – men and women –, the craftsmanship of their schooling paths, woven in the historical-social movement of the 1970s and 1980s, within the scope of the Functional Literacy and Integrated Education Programs , while pedagogical actions erected by the Brazilian Literacy Movement (Mobral, 1967 – 1985), created in the developmental logic plotted by the Civil Military Dictatorship – 1964 – 1985. It is located in the backlands of Alagoas, specifically, in the cities of Santana do Ipanema and Pão de Açúcar, and is part of the context of studies being carried out by the Multidisciplinary Research Group on Youth and Adult Education (Multieja) on the history of Adult and Youth and Adult Education (EDA/EJA) in the State of Alagoas. From this relationship, the thesis of school craftsmanship in Mobral results, entangled with the space lived/practiced by the subjects, which is intersected by survival, at the referred time, so that the reappropriations of this educational experience considered the constraints that crossed the ways of life and live the sertanejo space. Oral History, as an art of encounter, dialogue and listening, allowed the methodological border – the ways of walking/flying –, making it possible to ensnare memories, orality and narratives, without disregarding, in the historical texture, the documentary sources, in order to answer the following questions: To what extent did the Pedagogical Programs of Mobral - PAF and PEI - contribute to the craftsmanship of school paths in the sertanejo social context intersected by survival? In this sense, the partial considerations allow us to infer that there was an organizational logic of the Movement in the sertanejos municipalities, but that it aligned with the vertical orientations of Mobral Central, headquartered in Rio de Janeiro. The voices of the narrators invite us to look at the world from other radicals, and from knowledge that emerges from the cartography and sertaneja textures, as well as to understand their trajectories as a continuum, in which the appropriations of the school, is resignified by the objective and subjective movement of the life, permeated by unique family configurations, considering the sociocultural context in which they were immersed.
