SUMMARY:

This thesis aims to measure the incidence of academic plagiarism using, for this purpose, plagiarism detection software that will carry out an analysis of the TCC of the undergraduate Pedagogy course, available in the RIUFAL system, in face-to-face teaching and distance learning modalities at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) - Campus A/C Simões. It is worth mentioning that the issue of plagiarism is currently being discussed through programs that use Artificial Intelligence (AI) through the well-known GPT Chat, in addition to students' lack of understanding about plagiarism in the production of academic work. This work presents a methodology of an applied nature and brings at the core of the discussion a study on the impacts of the pandemic and AI in promoting academic plagiarism in the undergraduate pedagogy course at UFAL. The work selection criteria will take into account graduate students who have TCC approved and published in the UFAL
institutional repository (RIUFAL). The TCC sample will be stratified into annual periods starting in 2015 and ending in 2024. The reports generated by the TCC plagiarism analysis programs will be observed and compared. The results calculated by the plagiarism analysis programs will be cross-referenced with the institution's
main documents using an observation sheet. The sheet will catalog the time in which the documents indicate rules of good academic conduct. It is expected that a profile will be drawn up of how the ethical issue is found in the scientific production of students on the course, as well as a way of alerting the academic community about
the importance of promoting teacher training with a focus on ethics in research and use and application of digital technologies in education. The results relating to the study will provide to IES with alternatives for developing actions based on ethical principles that are applied in teacher training courses. In addition to allowing students to understand the importance of understanding the process of building knowledge in order to avoid plagiarism.
