The measurement of environmental impacts associated with processes and the development of products is a strategy to replace the so-called “end-of-pipe” technologies with others where these impacts can be significantly reduced. Life Cycle Analysis – LCA is a tool developed for this purpose and that creates subsidies for taking decisions in order to promote a better environmental performance of a product over the its life cycle. The present work proposes to evaluate the environmental performance of a sanitary landfill in the city of Delmiro Gouveia, state of Alagoas, through the ACV tool Life Cycle Analysis in order to promote more technical knowledge about the impacts negative environmental impacts resulting from the operation of the landfill. Five scenarios were considered operation for a sanitary landfill, of which four are hypothetical and one is a real scenario. O real scenario considers the disposal in a dump (dump). The hypothetical scenarios present arrangements of measures such as the use of biogas (to generate electricity and reduce the emission of Greenhouse Gases - GHG), leachate collection, composting of organic waste and dry waste recycling. The evaluation method chosen was the Impact WORLD+ 2012, which will assess the following impact categories: eutrophication, global warming, acidification, ozone layer depletion and abiotic depletion. O Life Cycle Inventory, will consider primary and secondary data obtained from studies carried out, information obtained from CRERSSAL, in addition to data from the database Ecoinvent v. 3.8, which will be compiled using OpenLCA software.
