Comparative analysis of beam damage identification methods.
Damage identification methods, wavelets, modal analysis.
This research aims to perform a comparative analysis between damage identification methods based on wavelets and modal analysis, to cooperate with the Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) process. To achieve that, beam models will be generated via commercial finite elements software with differences in parameters as damage level, damage type (unique or multiple), noise level and boundary conditions. The results will then be compared to check the effectiveness of each method in detecting and possibly localizing damage, in addition to observe the ability to distinguish different levels of damage to each model through statistical analysis that will be extended to study the influence of factors in the problem response of each damage identification methods.
