SUMMARY:
Mesoporous silica materials synthesis using renewable materials extracted from biomass resources considerably reduces the cost and environmental impacts of these syntheses. Furthermore, several studies have focused on the application of mesoporous silica materials in adsorption processes. The aim of the present work was the synthesis of several mesoporous silica materials, through different types of poros generators, from the surfactants of biomass source and the mixture of these with synthetic surfactants for COadsorption. They were characterized by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TG / DTG) and nitrogen adsorption at -196 °C. The adsorbents prepared were subjected to an assessment of the adsorption capacity of carbon dioxide (CO2) by the thermogravimetric method. The highly ordered mesoporous silica SBA-like structures using different biomass pore generators, such as Starch, Cellulose, Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC), Sucrose, D-Glucose, Lignin and Chitosan, were synthesized. The average pore diameters by the BJH method measuring 2 to 15 nm for SBA-AM and SBA-C samples, 2 to 14 nm for SBA-CMC and SBA-QUI samples and 2 to 19 nm for the SBA-SAC, SBA-GLI and SBA-LIG samples. The samples obtained the surface area results between 357 and 534 m2∙g-1, and pore volume between 0,65 and 0,83 cm3.g-1.
