ANALYSIS OF NURSE KNOWLEDGE AND ACTIVITY IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MACEIÓ

This is a quantitative study whose objective is to analyze the knowledge and practice of nurses in Primary Health Care, considered as the first level of care for communities in accordance with what is established by the Unified Health System, where a significant part of The activities are carried out by nursing professionals who, in turn, have their work regulated by Law No. 7498/1986. The general objective is to analyze the knowledge declared by nurses and the work they develop (do) in PHC with regard to compliance with the National Primary Care Policy aimed at nurses and the Legislation on Professional Nursing Practice in Brazil. The specific objectives are to identify the activities carried out by nurses in the context of their work processes in primary health care in compliance with the National Primary Care Policy aimed at nurses and the Law on their Professional Practice and to verify the correlation between knowledge and to do in compliance with the National Primary Care Policy aimed at nurses and the Legislation on Professional Nursing Practice. Methodology: cross-sectional quantitative study, whose population was made up of nurses who work in primary health care in Maceió, totaling 217. Applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria and respecting people's autonomy in whether or not to join the research , the intentional sample consisted of 148 nurses (80% of the total.) A Likert-type questionnaire adapted for this study was applied, respecting ethical principles. The project was approved by the Ethics Committee for Research with Human Beings in accordance with Opinion no 6.457.575. The results indicate that the instrument was suitable for the objectives of the study, that the knowledge declared by the nurses is capable of supporting their work ; that nurses carry out Primary Health Care actions as determined by the SUS and that they are supported by the Professional Practice Law. The data also shows a correlation between the nurses' knowledge and practice in primary health care.
