SUMMARY:

Objective: To analyze the association between anxiety and quality of life in workers of Consultorio na Rua from de Alagoas during the pandemic by COVID-19. Method: Quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study conducted with 49 professionals from Consultorio na Rua de Alagoas. The primary data obtained with face-to-face and online interviews by video call through Whatsapp and Google Meet, we used the: Sociodemographic Form; International Neuropsychiatric Interview (Brazilian version 7.0.2); Beck Anxiety Inventory; IDATE-Dash-State and WHOQOOL-BREF. The comparison between means was made by means of "t" tests for independent samples, after having met the assumption of homogeneity of the variances of the residues, through the Levene test. However, when the variables did not demonstrate normal distribution, the Mann-Witney analysis was used. To compare the variables with three responses between the groups, the unilateral variance analysis (ANOVA) was performed. Associations between categorical variables were calculated by chi-square test, or fisher's exact test. All analyses were conducted with the aid of statistical software R v 3.6.1 (R Core, Vienna, Austria) with the package "Rcmdr". The research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Alagoas under number 4.198.128. Results: More than half of the professionals of the professionals from Consultorio na Rua de Alagoas are female, with a mean age of 37 years. Data on anxiety show that all professionals presented some level of anxiety, all have a trait and moderate anxiety status, and nine people met the criteria that point to the presence of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. For the anxiety score, the mean presented was 11.29 (±10.08), which characterized the participants with a mild anxiety score. Regarding the domains of quality of life of the interviewees, the highest average presented was that of the domain of social relations, followed by the general quality of life and the psychological domain. The domain considered to have the lowest value was the physical domain. Data on the association between anxiety and quality of life indicate that the measure that the assessment of the environment increased, in parallel, an increase in the individual's state of anxiety could also be seen. When we analyzed data on the anxiety score and quality of life, we obtained a negative correlation. As the physical domain and overall quality of life decreased, the more the professional tended to have a high anxiety score. Statistical significance was also found by associating anxiety levels and quality of life data in the physical, environment and general quality of life domains. Regarding the association of TAG with quality of life, two domains were significant: the domain of social relations and the overall quality of life. Conclusion: This study made it possible to analyze the sociodemographic profile, the characteristics of the data on anxiety and quality of life of the workers of the Office on the Street and associate them, proving through tests that obtained statistical significance that these data are correlated.
