This is a documentary research of a social nature whose object is the insertion and diffusion of the Sespian culture in the work of the health team of the Special Public Health Service in the 50s. The objectives were to describe the modus operandi of SESP and the culture that imprinted on the most important Brazilian women for the war effort and to analyze the diffusion of Sespian culture as a civilizing process in health in Brazil. The theoretical reference was the “Civilizing Process” by Norbert Elias. As a methodology, we had documental research as sources of articles and reports and periodicals for the Service. Data analysis showed the configuration of the SESP health team, nurses and visitors, characterized mainly as a civilizing process, with all the nuances such as human relationships and configurations that underlie the civilizing process.
