SUMMARY:

Introduction: This study is justified by the understanding of users' understanding of access to Psychosocial Care Centers that provide assistance to people with mental disorders, focusing on their entry point and continuity of service. And then, from there, it is aimed at the possibility of knowing the quality of the access offered and possibly clarifying these functionalities to society. Objective: To understand users' perception of access to Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS II), considering the territorial and managerial determinants and conditions described. Methodology: A study with a qualitative, exploratory approach, using the oral history of life technique. To be carried out in individual sessions, with users and former users of two CAPS II from different health districts in Maceió. The collection was carried out through an oral history interview, with the aid of a semi-structured script and a field diary through voice recording. Analysis and Results: The transcriptions of the interviews were carried out in an exhaustive and careful way, identifying with Roman numerals to obey the order of realization. Then, the analysis procedures were carried out in “Oral Life History”: textualization and transcreation carefully so as not to change the meaning of the information obtained. Validation was also carried out with the participants after passing the three processes. After validation of the in-depth interview, the categorization phase was carried out in sequence, consisting of pre-analysis, coding. From speech clippings, which were considered relevant in the coding procedure, these were selected according to the questions asked following the script, indicating categories and subcategories which respond to the notes of the study objective, which include: “I as a child, My adolescence discoveries”, “I started having seizures”, “It's been 15 years of treatment at the CAPS”, “The CAPS was important in my life”. Within these categories, possible subcategories with excerpts from the user's speeches were also identified, thus identifying the categorization and its codes.
