SUMMARY:
The work has as its object of investigation Restorative Justice and carries out a case study on the 4th Court of Domestic and Family Violence Against Women in Maceió/AL, since restorative practices began to be implemented in that jurisdictional circuit. Rather, it defines the theoretical referential bases linked to Restorative Justice based on the work of Howard Zehr. From this, we analyze the Maria da Penha Law, its historical origin, objectives and procedural aspects, addressing criticisms of the limits of autonomy of women victims of domestic violence with regard to criminal actions. After theoretical and documental analysis, empirical research data are analyzed, presenting the structure, subjects and dynamics of the 4th Court of Domestic and Family Violence Against Women in Maceió/AL, performing content analysis of the speeches of the subjects directly involved in the Restorative Justice program in Alagoas, such as judges, prosecutors, public defenders, victims and defendants. At the end, we seek to infer about the correspondences or distortions of restorative practices in Maceió, to reach a position on the compatibility of the program developed by the Court of Alagoas with the theoretical assumptions and objectives of Restorative Justice.
