SUMMARY:

The experience of listening to workers leads us to perceive repetitions of speeches that say something about a discursive formation where these subjects pass. Within these repetitions, words such as competence, entrepreneurship, proactivity and cost-benefit appear, which are generally used in companies, but which are being used by workers to describe and evaluate their lives. In this sense, using a metaphorical resource, the question is: how does a subject become a “company”? Especially with the conception of the new homo oeconomicus, which reappears in neoliberalism as an entrepreneur of itself, for whom investment in human capital is thought long before the subject becomes a worker: the formation of machine-competence is constituted from the beginning of your life. Given this context, the problem of this study starts from the assumption that the aptitude to work, the competence, the power to do something, all of this cannot be separated from those who are competent and can do this thing. In other words, the worker's competence is a machine - capitalism turns the worker into a machine and therefore alienates him. In this sense, the entrepreneur of himself is the subject who incorporates biopolitical calls to continuously transform himself, to be an effective manager of his human capital and, thus, to see himself as an enterprise - which implies a process of self-transformation that consequently, it metamorphoses the affects that circulate in the social body, as well as the way the subject is affected and affects in the relationships he establishes in society. This condition of the subject leads this study to the following questions: How to understand affectivity as an expression of society? How does the subject's ability to affect and be affected fit into communicational models that are part of the discursive strategies of agents identified as companies / entrepreneurs? These questions prompt the investigation in a more particular way about the discourse enunciated by and / or for the new homo oeconomicus, which corresponds to communicational processes that call for them to be more and more subjects of performance, effective managers of themselves, in a supposedly utopian society, that he imagines to be the best for everyone's future. With that, we aim to present a symptomatic, systematic and sensitive reading about the discourse of affects in the process of change or transformation of society. With this assumption, the theoretical and methodological basis of this work is anchored in the Pêcheutiana Discourse Analysis, supported by historical materialism, with the interlocution of the studies on the affections in Spinoza. The discursive materialities that make up the corpus of this work consist of news and / or reports that address current dramas, such as the easement of the work platform and the emancipation with female entrepreneurship. Regarding the statements, the discourse of affections and their effects of meaning marked in language, in the subject, in history, in ideology and affectivity are situated as a point of observation and analysis, in a society characterized by domination and resistance. In the analysis, it can be identified that the bodies of the entrepreneurial subject of himself are found in the affective discourse in the perspective of changing or transforming reality. It is concluded, therefore, that the statements constituting the corpus of this research move between the subject's sense of servitude and emancipation. The condition of helplessness of the subject-company triggers the restoration of the sense of humanity and the resumption of the affection of empathy. In the midst of this affective configuration, the paths between knowledge and affectivity, marked by the discourse, show themselves as a possible means of making an entirely practical use of Spinozist thought, so that better understanding the subject's relationship with the world appears the chance to choose, that is, to be active in the generation of affections, feeds the potency of the act to be and act for the common good.
