SUMMARY:

This research arose when I started studying in the Libras Course at UFAL, in 2014, hence a project developed at UFSC about Libras corpus that was replicated at UFAL. This is a challenging project, since at the same time I learned the strategies of documenting the language, I found it difficult to transcribe the data using glossing. The purpose of this investigation is to discuss the methodologies and mechanisms for documenting Libras, in addition to developing consistent theoretical-methodological strategies for the registration of this language, establishing and analyzing the linguistic description based on the documentation of Libras referring to the variety of Maceió. The fundamentals of Corpus Linguistics regarding the documentation of languages, especially sign languages (Brown 1964), (Sardinha 2000), (Nonaka 2004), (Johnston 2009), (Hereweghe and Vermeerberge 2012), (Leite and Quadros 2014) are presented. and (Tables 2016), as well as the processes to be carried out that are inherent to the methodology used for data collection in Corpus de Libras. Research methodology is presented with a research proposal that aims to document Libras, on the one hand, and, on the other, to improve the resources and strategies for registering this language precisely during the process of documenting. The documentation of a language, to some extent, is already part of linguistic analysis, since the researcher needs to make decisions about transcriptions, annotations (transcription using ELAN software), which are based on necessarily linguistic criteria . There are two essential issues for Libras documentation that need to be considered: 1) transcription in glossing; 2) powering the signal bank. The research focuses on the analysis of narratives
