SUMMARY:

The oppression and the violence to which the LGBTQIA+ community has been subjected over theyears in Brazil are unquestionable evidence of the founding character that heterosexism and cisheteronormativity assume in the construction of our society. The country has figured in the highestpositions in the rankings of lgbtphobia, receiving the title of country that kills the most travestisand transsexuals in the world, according to data from the National Association of Travestis andTranssexuals (NATT). In spite of that, some impulses have been taken, aiming to trace escaperoutes from this reality and to escape from the lgbtphobic logic in which we are inserted. Linn daQuebrada, a Brazilian multimedia artist, has used her body – through her compositions,performances, speeches, etc. – as a stage for facing the threats that cis-heterosexism, masculinitiesand whiteness impose on dissident bodies. Therefore, I propose, from the perspective of apajubariana ethics (FAVERO, 2020), a bibliographic cuirization and approximation routesbetween gender and cuir studies and the critical studies of utopia to analyze a cut of songs by theartist, focusing on her debut album, Pajubá, reflecting on the ways in which her body, her art andher artivism (SANT’ANA, 2017) allow us (or summon us to) dream new possibilities of being in
the world.
