SUMMARY:

This work investigates the discursive process that constitutes the relationship between the real estate market and the organization of urban space in the state of Alagoas. The study aims to analyze the production of meanings from the real estate discourses that constitute the subjects of “upscale” clients in coastal areas of the state of Alagoas. For this, the research was anchored in Discourse Analysis, originated in France by Michel Pêcheux, as a theoretical and analytical device of interpretation, bringing reflections on the notions of discursive formation and constitution of the subject of discourse. From the historical-ideological conditions of the process of planning, construction and transformation of the urban space on the coast of Alagoas, a discursive corpus was constituted, consisting of a contract for the purchase and sale of a lot in the “upscale” condominium located on the south coast of Alagoas, as well as posts on the social network Instagram and transcription of sayings published on the Youtube channel, which try to attract “upscale” clients to the real estate market. So far, reflections have been made on the city as a body that produces conflicting meanings, which show dominant discursive subjects and also subjects who resist the expropriation of urban space.
