FROM LA DAME DE BOURBON TO FLAMENCA: Horizons of translation in the project of Anton M. Espadaler

This work proposes the dissertative study on the translations of the work Flamenca, anonymous written from the thirteenth century, which had a growing interest from the rewriting "El Mal Querer" of the Spanish singer Rosalía in 2018. New detailed readings of the Flamenca editions of Anton M. Espadaler to Catalan (2016) and Spanish (2019) were carried out, as well as the study of the French translations by Paul Meyer (1865), and to English by E.D. Blodgett (1995) available at The Occitan Project, Indiana University. These detailed readings aimed to seek to understand the strategies and choices used by Espadaler in his translations, with regard to the theories used as the basis for this investigation. Finally, the translated texts were analyzed based on what theorizes Berman (1995; 2002; 2012) both with regard to the translation itself, as well as with regard to its project and composition by the translator, as well as what enunciates Genette (2009) and Yuste Frías on paratranslation.
