ABSTRACT
The native people in Brazil are affected by several discursive events. Since the invasion, such events would be responsible for angering the native nations until the present day. The discourse on the Xukuru-Kariri indigenous people has always been crossed by the political field, since 1790. With the approach of the church and the construction of the city, in the indigenous territory, the Xukuru-Kariri peoples are losing space and the process of taking over indigenous land causes the urban area to grow. The research, the result of which is presented in this dissertation, was responsible for identifying the discourses that affect the originary people and their territory in the historical course. It takes as a starting point the legend of the foundation of the city of Palmeira dos Índios, a text produced by Luiz Barros Torres, which in turn is an attempt to mitigate the native peoples, hide and disguise the scandals involving the elites of the municipality, it is a historical mark of the ideological relationship between non-native versus native. The text works as a discourse of domination that, however peaceful it tries to erase reality from history, mobilizes memory and through repetition generates a process that regularizes the discourse of the narrative. This regularization is necessary to guarantee the seizure of native lands by the powerful in the municipality. In which a small part of the territory is destined for the subsistence of 10 villages of the Xukuru-Kariri people, it is believed that he is responsible for the attempt to dominate the originary people, whom resist various forms of intervention in the historical course.
