SUMMARY:

Introduction: this Course Completion Academic Work (TACC) brings in its composition an article and two propositions of educational products, which had their origin in the results obtained from the research entitled: "Permanent education in times of pandemic: perception of intensive physical therapists of a high-risk public maternity”. Since the first months of 2020, when the first cases of COVID-19 (disease caused by the corona virus SARS-Cov-2) appeared and with the advance of the pandemic in Brazil, our health system was strained and taken to almost exhaustion, bringing challenges that at first sight were practically insurmountable. During this period in professional practice, it was permanent health education (PHE) that contributed to mitigating this situation and helping us to understand the new coronavirus, and established itself as a powerful strategy in the mobilization of the entire multiprofessional team. Even at the present time, health institutions had and have to reorganize and direct all their EPS actions to prepare their servers, including intensive physical therapists. In this way, the EPS can train these professionals in order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, understand the pathophysiology of the virus, in order to try to provide qualified assistance to pregnant women, mothers and newborns at the maternity school researched. The motivation for this study was based on the author's experience as a frontline professional in the fight against the pandemic, on the perception of the change in the maternity routine and that of the entire team, and on the applicability of EPS during this troubled period. Objective: to analyze the development of Continuing Health Education actions in a Maternity School during the COVID 19 Pandemic. Method: the study is qualitative, being a descriptive, exploratory case study. A focus group with 5 participants was carried out and the data analyzed using the method suggested by Malheiros. Results: it was observed that EPS was of great importance in combating the pandemic, both in aspects of improvement and application of protocols, improvement in care and clinical practice, as well as in the safety of professionals and in the care of COVID patients, with influence positive in the emotional aspect of the team of physiotherapists. All these gains were directly related to the moments of EPS performed in the maternity ward with the presence of the multidisciplinary team. Final considerations: this TACC provides information on EPS during the pandemic period and the two proposed products aim to aggregate EPS in institutional practice.
