GENERAL ABSTRACT
The National Program For Patient SAFETY (PNSP) intituted by the Brazilian Ministry of Health (MS) has recognizably contributed for the qualification in health care nationwide either in public or private facilities, stimulating safe assistence practices, involving the citizens in their own safety and encouraging the subject and incrementing research. The study peformed with nursing undergraduetes in the Nursing Schoolpf the University of Alagoas (EENF-UFAL) during the internship in the General Hospital regarding patiente safety had as its goal to analise the perception of these students in relation to the public hospital where they performed as the scenery for course's practices. The leading question was: What is the knowledge of nursing undergraduetes from a public university in Brazil northeast region. Therefore the objective is to identify the knowledge of the nursing undergraduetes have about patient safety. The metodology applied will be qualitative, of descritive type. The sampla was constituted of 20 students enrolled in the fifth year undergoing the supervised internship on the General Hospital of the nursing school of UFAL. An interview was held, guided by a semi-structured tool on april 2022, and analysed at the light of content analysis referential of Bardin, contemplating the technique the interview was held in a private room where only the only present were the researcher and one student at a time, Both wearing masks and at a distance of 2 meters from eachother, following the instructions of MS/ANVISA, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The results show that the undergraduetes have a limited knowledge of patient safety, acquired along the course or in extracurricular activities. During the internship they wew able to dicern the protocols and implement by the patient safety nucleus in the hospital and come up with considerations regarding its importance for the quality pf assistance in health care. The relevance of the studies and the cientific contribution exoected from the research diagnosis would be the increment in the formation of the students in the nursing course from the acquired knowledge of patient safety leading them to act multidisciplinary, seeking the improvement in assistence quality. The study, when finished should be sent to be published in a cientific magazine commited to the subject to be able to contribute significantly with the health care professionals and society.
