SUMMARY:

The research, entitled "Distance Learning and the Production of Mental Health Care in Primary Care in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, in Municipalities in the State of Alagoas", aimed to analyze the impact of the course Mental Health Care in Primary Attention in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, in the performance of health professionals in the municipalities of Alagoas. The course was offered on the educ@sesau, virtual platform of the State Department of Health during the second half of 2021. This case study, of a descriptive nature and qualitative approach, adopted techniques such as document analysis, semi-structured interviews and online focus groups to collect data. Content analysis, using the thematic categorical analysis technique proposed by Bardin, was applied to analyze the results. The results revealed that the course Mental Health Care in Primary Attention Primary in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, in the distance education modality, proved to be a satisfactory teaching-learning strategy in the perception of health professionals, despite the challenges and limitations faced during the pandemic. The improvements identified in the professionals' reports were incorporated. Based on the results, "PodSUSpirar" was developed, an intervention product in communication media, with the aim of expanding access to information and promoting critical thinking about everyday practices, assisting in the development of health professionals. In the final considerations, it is highlighted that the integration between teaching and service is a continuous and fundamental process to guarantee equity and quality in access to health. Strategies like this contribute to the training of human resources in the health sector and facilitate the articulation and implementation of policies and practices within the scope of the Unified Health System.
