SUMMARY:

Faced with the great challenges that humanity faces on climate change, and the
need to delineate and quantify anthropogenic impacts on atmospheric dynamics, the
inventory of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) is one of the basic tools, which provides
relevant data to direct certain policies and actions to reduce GHG emissions into the
atmosphere. Considering that there is a lack of scientific synthesis on what is emitted
from greenhouse gases studied in the State of Alagoas, this research aims to
prepare an inventory of GHG emissions in the territory of Alagoas; highlighting the
main sources of GHG emissions. Then, the following specific objectives were listed:
to highlight the main sources responsible for GHG emissions in the State of Alagoas,
to calculate greenhouse gas emissions from the main sources in this territory. And to
analyze the evolution of the emissions of these gases in a period of 20 years. The
theoretical survey was then carried out, which was the basis for identifying the mainemission and GHG sources. Evidencing and discussing the means of measuring GHG emissions. Emissions from stationary sources such as combustion, industrial, agriculture, electric energy, solid waste will be calculated. As well as mobile sources such as motor vehicles. It is expected as a result of this research to identify andaccount for GHG emissions such as carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide (N2O) and methane (CH4), emitted by human actions; and, in this way, provide instruments to better guide decision-making and public policies.
