"Youth, Gender and Crowd": An analysis of the relationships between young men and women in the “Mancha Azul” soccer fan club
Organized Fans – Blue Spot – Gender.
This research aims to bring out the dynamics that are arranged in the Mancha Azul Soccer gang, an association located in the city of Maceió- Alagoas. Focusing on gender relations in the crowd, and how young men and women in this scenario trace their networks of sociability causing tensions throughout this process.
The study is developed in four stages, all of a qualitative nature, ranging from insertion in the field, participant observation, ethnographies, interviews to analysis of discussions in cyberspace and how this gender dichotomy can also be observed virtually.
Identifying these dynamics, whether in the material or virtual world, is
fundamental to realize how the organization of the crowd is being arranged, and
how these tensions point to a male predominance in the football environment, in
all its spheres. Giving voice to these agents is putting them in evidence in
academic research.
