THE CLASSROMM AND THE RURAL WORLD: A STUDY ON THE TEACHING OF SOCIOLOGY IS RURAL SCHOD IN THE SERTÃO ALAGOANO
Teaching of Sociology; Teaching Work; Rural Schools; Rural World.
The present work has the proposal to analyze and discuss the teaching performance in the scope of the teaching of sociology, having as a research universe, rural schools in the state of Alagoas that offer secondary education. The main issue is to analyze whether the sociology of secondary education in rural schools in Alagoas considers the rural context in which students are inserted. In other words, is the local reality “empty” from the classroom within the scope of teaching Sociology? Thus, the practice of the
sociology teacher will be observed, as well as the curriculum and methods used in teaching, in addition to the working conditions and academic training of these teachers who work in these schools. It will also be necessary to understand these teachers' views on the specifics of teaching in the area/territory where they are located. In addition to these assumptions, the students' views on the teaching of Sociology will also be observed. The process of consolidating the teaching of Sociology in Brazil and Alagoas will be presented in order to offer a historical view of the institutionalization of the discipline. The proposal is that the research can reach all sociology teachers of the 19 rural state schools in Alagoas through the formation of a profile of these professionals, but with an emphasis on field research in three schools located in the hinterland of Alagoas. It will be used, through a field research, the qualitative perspective of analysis, evidenced by the use of semi-structured interview scripts, guided by the methodology of oral history and ethnography in the classroom. Based on this information, the formative
characteristics and perception of teachers can be formulated, as well as what the students' view of the teaching of Sociology is.
