YOUTH AND POLITICAL PARTICIPATION: STUDENTS OCCUPATIONS IN ALAGOAS
Student Occupations, Youth, Political Participation, Social Movements
The work in progress will seek to understand the phenomenon of school occupations that occurred in 2016 in the state of Alagoas, more specifically the cases of occupation of the IFAL of Alagoas. The research seeks to understand the development of the students' mobilization process to carry out the occupation until the moment after the occupation, highlighting the consequences of the occupation for the school routine and for the political formation of the young people who participated in it. Based on semi-structured interviews to be carried out with students, content analysis of occupation pages and journalistic articles, we will chronologically assemble how the occupation process was, focusing on the guidelines raised by the movements at the beginning of the process and on guidelines that are incorporated throughout the occupation. We will also discuss how the relationship between students and teachers and administrators took place, how students structured the occupation, the decision-making bodies regarding the organization of activities and acts. We will also analyze whether there was a creation of networks of solidarity and exchange of information by students from different occupations in Alagoas among themselves and with other sectors of society.
