SUMMARY:

The present work entitled "Prostitution of cisgender women in Maceió: An intersectional perspective (1969 and 1980)", analyzes the prostitution of cisgender women in Maceió between 1969 and 1981, in the pages of the newspapers Gazeta de Alagoas and Jornal de Alagoas, from an intersectional perspective. In this way, it is discussed how the press approached the issue of prostitution, using a web of statements, a cisheteronormative discursive logic, which legitimizes state actions of control over cisgender women who practiced prostitution, as well as forms of well-delineated morals of specific classes, that is, as a legitimizing force of what Foucault (2020) calls disciplinary power, which acts in favor of the action of biopower, to control and discipline bodies.
