SUMMARY:

This dissertation aims to analyze the process of training History teachers in the degree
course in History at UFAL - Campus Sertão, which took place between 2013 and 2021.
teachers from reflections that articulate theory presented during the initial teacher
training course and teaching practice; as well as ethics and aesthetics in higher-level
pedagogical practice to train teachers in line with contemporary needs, the importance
of training that thinks about new pedagogical practices for teaching History. In order to
think about the teaching of History and its configurations, we took as theoretical
reference Fonseca (2011), Bittencourt (2011), Santos (2014) and Monteiro (2013). We
used Tardif (2009; 2011) to discuss teaching knowledge. Hermann (2005) and Pignatelli
(2011) help us to think about the concept of aesthetics, Benjamin (1984) and Larrosa
(2015) provide us with the concept of experience. Rüsen (2006) and Schmidt (2016)
collaborate with the discussion on historical education. This work uses the aesthetic
experiences developed in the Ancient History, Medieval History, African History,
Historical Research Techniques and Supervised Internship classes in the
aforementioned time frame. For that, we use different sources: legislative documents
(LDB, PCN, BNCC); The menus of the subjects analyzed and mentioned above; the
Political Pedagogical Project of the History Course (PPC) (2009); the UFAL REUNI
Project (2007); photographs and diaries written by the undergraduates during training
experiences and interviews with active history teachers who participated in the initial
training at UFAL - Campus do Sertão, from which we analyzed the difference between
the theory seen in the undergraduate course and the teaching practice. To account for
the research objectives, we make use of discourse analysis from the perspective of Eni
Orlandi (2001).
