THE PRINCESS AND FREEDOM IN A MACEIOUS DOUBLE LOOK AT THE ABOLITION: RHETORICAL ANALYSIS OF ACADEMICS AND MONARCHISTS FROM ALAGOAS (2016-2022)
Abolitionism. Monarchy. Neabi. Digital Rhetoric. Cyberactivism.
This work aims to analyze the memory produced and socialized by a group of monarchists from Alagoas, the Monarchic Circle of Alagoas, regarding the Abolition of Slavery and contrast it with the view of the Nucleus of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies (Neabi) of the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL). To this end, I retrace the history of the development of the groups analyzed and study the interaction of the groups through a rhetorical analysis of their digital communication from the perspective of the Abolition of Slavery, in which it is evident how the new right elaborates its discourse about the past for a political profit in the present.
