The cinematographic language in the development of Historical Consciousness: analysis of students' historical learning

This research has as its object the cinematic language as a means of learning in History classes, in view of the possibilities of the formation of historical consciousness. Thus, the main objective is to critically investigate the complexity of cinematic language in the teaching and learning of History, without losing sight of the formation of historical consciousness, from practices in History classes and the practical life of students. The proposal of this research starts from the idea that the cinematic language is an efficient didactic tool in the teaching of History, since it has a practical function this instrument contributes to the understanding and interpretation of the past, is an interesting language and is present in the practical life of students. Thus, films become a form of access to historical knowledge. The methodological course is started with a bibliographic and exploratory study, for this, some academic works were used that address the Rusenian theory and the relationship between cinema and history in a perspective focused on the teaching of history. Therefore, some important concepts for research need to be presented, such as historical learning, historical awareness, historical culture, cinematic language and Cinema-History. In order to analyze and understand the impacts of films in History classes, a questionnaire was applied to History teachers. This questionnaire consists of open questions and others of multiple choice, all related to the use of films in the classroom. The theoretical basis was the reflections of Jörn Rüsen (1992; 2000; 2001; 2012), Schmidt (2004; 2012), Ferro (1992), Nóvoa (1995), Souza (2014), Cerri (2010; 2001), Napolitano (2003), Bittencourt (2009), among other researchers. It is also evidenced the possibilities that cinematic language allows for the development of historical consciousness in students. Finally, for the understanding of the practice and investigate the learning history will be executed a "Historical Class", having as main pedagogical resource the cinematic language. In this case, this action research has the participation of students from the final years of elementary school in the city of Maceió, in the state of Alagoas.
