NARRATIVES ABOUT THE PAST AND RECENT POLITICAL DISPUTES: THE TRAJECTORY OF THE MONARCHAL CIRCLE OF ALAGOAS AND ITS MEMORIES ABOUT THE REPUBLICAN SYSTEM AND THE ABOLITION OF SLAVERY (2016-2022)
abolitionism, monarchy, digital rhetoric, cyberactivism, new right.
This work aims to analyze the history and the memories produced and socialized by a group of monarchists from Alagoas, the Monarchic Circle of Alagoas, regarding the Abolition of Slavery and contrast it with the historiographic production that opposes it. To do so, I retrace the history of the development of the analyzed group and study the interaction of the group by observing the construction of its digital communication around the theme of the Abolition of Slavery in Brazil, in which it is evident how this part of the New Right elaborates its discourse about the past for a political profit in the present.
