SUMMARY:

This dissertation project aims to elaborate two essays on education in the State of Alagoas. In the first essay we intend to investigate the inequalities of educational opportunities in the municipalities of Alagoas between 2010 and 2019, while the second essay proposes to examine the determinants of school dropout in elementary and high school in Alagoas for the same period. For this purpose, the microdatabase of the School Census and the National Secondary Education Examination (Enem) of the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) will be used. To achieve the proposed objectives, for the first test the Generalized Additive Model (GAM) will be used, and the second test will be used the Multilevel Logistic Model.
