MAPPING THE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER FROM UNIVERSITIES IN ALAGOAS: A CASE STUDY AT NIT/UFAL
Technology transfer. Science, technology and innovation management. Public universities. Alagoas
The aims of this project is analyze how the process of technological development and technology transfer from Alagoas universities to the private sector takes place. The concept of technology transfer covers two broad issues and their meanings: how to define technology and the direct meaning of transfer. Technology transfer means that innovations developed at the university are not restricted to paper. Thus, the result of a scientific investigation is converted into a product or service and benefit to society.
This process begins with the link between the researcher and the NIT, through the communication of research results that have the potential to respond to everyday problems and improve society's life. The role of the NIT is to establish the closest contact with the external community, through the granting of patent licensing with the public and private sectors. In general, technology transfer takes place through contracts signed with the government and established companies. The main intention of this project is to assist in the transfer of scientific knowledge about innovation, diffusion and technological transfer, as well as to know the evolution of concepts and measurements, to map how this process occurs between universities in Alagoas and the private sector, in addition to showing the importance of recognition and encouragement of these activities and in the formation of public policies to assist the development of the state.
