SUMMARY:

The government of the State of Alagoas, in 2017, implemented the Escola 10 Program, which had the main objective of guaranteeing the learning rights of students and improving the educational quality and level of learning of the public school system with the aim of reversing the worrying moment in which was related to their educational indicators. That said, the objective of this work is to evaluate the impact of the State Education Policy Program, Escola 10, on educational indicators, both of a quantitative nature, represented by the proportion of individuals enrolled in primary and secondary education in public schools in Alagoas, as well as in what it concerns the qualitative aspect referring to the performance on the Basic Education Development Index (Ideb) and the personalized average scores of the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb). The analysis strategy will follow the synthetic control methodology, seeking to obtain a counterfactual for these educational indicators, estimating in turn, the impact of the program on such indicators. The data will be extracted from microdata produced by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) and the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (Pnadc), between the period from 2013 to 2019, in order to analyze the trajectory of the variables of interest .
