SUMMARY:

Cultural and social changes influence the educational scenario and suggest changes on the teacher’s pedagogical practice in the classroom. From a constructivist perspective, the use of active methodology can stimulate the formation of an autonomous, critical, creative and curious young person about the phenomena that occur around them beyond the teacher perspective in the classroom. Our hypothesis is that the use of the active methodology will reflect a significant increase in the performance of students in Biology classes. Therefore, the present study intends on verifying the efficiency of active methodologies by using a mobile phone application in the high school Biology teaching. The research will be developed with high school students at the State School Teacher João Costa, Aracaju / SE. The project execution will take place counting on the active participation of the students and it will include: bibliographic review; research on free accessible digital tools, softwares and applications that can be used as a platform for building and hosting an application for smartphones with content related to the Insecta Class; application development, participating students evaluation; obtained data collection and analysis. In order to assess students' performance, the field journal will be used, where students responses related to the interest shown in learning the topic as well as their engagement in the use of these teaching-learning methods will be observed; a post-test will also be used, which analysis and data treatment will happen by means of the t Student test.
