SUMMARY:

Genetics, despite its presence in the daily life of society, is greatly misunderstood by most students and the population in general, failing to relate certain concepts studied at school about this discipline. Many students demonstrate difficulties in understanding the meaning of Gene, DNA and RNA as well as correlating disturbances in the genetic material to the appearance of cancerous tumors. This project seeks to develop a board game with the participation of students that is didactic and pedagogical where, in a playful way, helps students in understanding the intrinsic concepts of molecular genetics and that they can understand and correlate the genetic structure to oncogenesis. The research will be carried out by students of the 2nd year of high school at Escola Sebastião Tiago de Oliveira, Municipality of Jupi – PE. Students will be guided to research the concepts involved in the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology and Oncogenesis, then debates about the subject will be promoted. After elucidating doubts and curiosities, students will have the challenge of developing a board game, using the WAR game as a reference. In this way, we intend to contribute to a better understanding of concepts related to molecular genetics, correlating them to issues of interest to society, such as the case of cancer.
